The impact of inactive tailings dumps on the environment has been studied for the first time

The first step in solving the tailings dumps problem has been taken. The Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body announced this.

The structure has found that it has the appropriate professional potential and technical equipment to conduct a more accurate study of this infrastructure.

Vardan Jhanyan, President of the Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association, participating in the discussion convened by the inspection body, noted that now there is an opportunity to provide a more accurate solution to this issue together with representatives of the government, business, as well as the scientific sector, and to demonstrate a systematic approach, which has not been the case before.

The studies will serve as the basis for a working group to be established in the near future to implement further steps.
