Amazon.com Inc. plans to invest €1.4 billion in the Netherlands between 2025 and 2027.
According to the company, the investments will be directed toward both Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud business and the development of its commercial operations in the country.
Specifically, Amazon intends to invest in improving technology and logistics, reducing delivery times, and increasing customer convenience.
Amazon began operations in the Netherlands in 2014 with the sale of e-books.
In 2020, the company enabled local businesses to sell products on its platform, and today, partners account for more than 60% of sales on Amazon.nl.
The number of Amazon employees in the Netherlands exceeds 1,000.
According to Amazon, this investment program is the largest the company has undertaken in the country since 2020. The company continues to actively expand its operations across Europe.
Last year, Amazon announced a total investment of €17.8 billion in Germany for the development of its logistics network and cloud infrastructure, as well as €15.7 billion in Spain for cloud infrastructure expansion.
