The Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association presented the potential of Armenia’s mining sector and cooperation opportunities at PDAC 2026

The Armenian delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of  TRC Asatur Vardanyan, participated in the PDAC2026 international conference held in Toronto, Canada, on March 1-4.
The delegation also included Vardan Jhanyan, President of the Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association, Hayk Aloyan, Executive Director of Lydian Armenia, and Gor Yedigaryan, Diplomat of the Armenian Embassy.

Within the framework of the conference, Vardan Jhanyan held a number of working meetings with representatives of different countries, Canadian provinces, and international organizations. In particular, meetings were held with representatives of Finland, Quebec, and Sweden, As well as with representatives of several international mining companies, including BHP and Newmont, which also actively participated in the conference with their exhibition booths.

During the discussions, the experience accumulated in the mining sector of the mentioned countries, effective management and development models of the sector, as well as their possible applicability in Armenia were discussed. The parties also discussed investment opportunities in the mining sector of Armenia and the possible interest of international companies in the Armenian market.

The conference, organized by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) & Developers Association of Canada, is considered one of the largest and most prestigious events in the mining and mineral exploration sector in the world.

This year, 32,155 participants were registered for the PDAC2026 forum, which is the highest participation in the history of the conference, as well as more than 1,300 exhibiting organizations were represented at the exhibition, which is also a record figure.
