Nissan Tests New Electric Juke

Nissan has begun testing the new electric Juke on public roads, with sales of the production version expected to start next year.

The new Nissan Juke EV will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Sunderland. Technically, the model is close to the Nissan Leaf, which in its third generation has evolved from a hatchback into a crossover. Its length is 4,350 mm, similar to that of the Juke, raising questions about how the two models will be differentiated for buyers.

Nissan representatives say the electric Juke will feature a distinctive design compared to other models in the brand’s lineup. For some, it will be a “wow car,” while others may not choose such a model at all.

The Juke EV is built on the same CMF-BEV platform as the Leaf, suggesting similar batteries and powertrains. The maximum driving range is expected to exceed 560 km, with power output reaching 214 horsepower.

Earlier, Nissan representatives indicated that the price of the new Juke EV will be close to that of the current gasoline version, which starts at around £21,000 (€23,792) in the UK.

Production of the current-generation Nissan Juke will continue alongside the release of the new electric version.
